Custom EFI Programming
at The Dyno Shop

Custom Programming:

Modern vehicles are complicated wonders full of electronics. It is certainly not unusual for a car, truck or motorhome to have more than one computer in fact most now will have several! The Engine Management System itself is controlled by a computer commonly known as an ECM or an ECU.

Standard adjustments such as ignition timing and air/fuel mixture are no longer as easy to tune as moving the distributor and adjusting the carburetor. In order to properly tune a modified vehicle the computer system must be tapped into and set up so that it "knows" that it is working with an engine that has been modified. Otherwise, it thinks that it is still in a factory stock automobile and sets the parameters accordingly.

What we can do at The Dyno Shop is reset these factory parameters so that the computer no longer is set to stock. If you have a vehicle that has been modified, or are simply looking to get more power out of an OEM system, we can do this for you! The Dyno Shop has a long standing reputation for tuning and we have done performance enhancements on tens of thousands of vehicles (of all types) over a 33 year span. You may find "Graduates" of our shop at the local mall or drag strip! In fact you may very well find vehicles in many states that have been tuned by us. Custom Programming fits that category too and we encourage you to contact us and inquire about your vehicle's needs.

OFF Road Vehicles:

If you own an off road vehicle that has modern fuel injection and/or is turbocharged, The Dyno Shop can help you out too! One of the tools we have available is the Unichip™ whick is a piggy-back type computer that happily coexists with your on-board ECU. What this does is intercept signals that are going to the main computer, and changes them. In this fashion The Dyno Shop can treat drivability issues and enhance performance on modified vehicles.

With the Unichip, we actually tune your vehicle LIVE on the DYNO! There is no guesswork. When you bring it in, we will run you through a short interview. We will ask you what kind of fuel is in it. We'll need to know how long the problem has existed and what caused it, if possible. You will be asked what type of driving the vehicle gets.
